SAWBRIDGEWORTH racer Rachel Green claimed a podium finish in the Avon Tyres Caterham Superlight Challenge when she raced at Brands Hatch.
Green took a hard-earned second place in the race - the sixth round of the series - after a long battle with Surrey driver Peter Ratcliff, whom she pressured into a mistake at Paddock Hill Bend at mid-distance.
The result more than made up for Green's disappointment at finishing only sixth in Saturday's Brands Hatch round, in which she found her car not performing well after a recent ground-up rebuild following an accident.
Both the Brands races were won by Kent youngster David Mayes, who assumes the championship lead. Green holds seventh overall in the points standings.

The next round in the series is at Silverstone on August 16 and 17.
